Darwin's Theory/Law of Evolution?

There are two aspects just like gravity for instance. There are thing that happen that we know happened and we see happen all the time (the law). The theory is how we EXPLAIN WHAT is happening and HOW. It's a slight distinction, but an important one. I think wikipedia has a good rundown on the difference.
