How can i organize my music on my computer?

i have a toshiba lap top with windows vista.(not sure if that matters...) iv downloaded like 300 songs and they're just listed in no particular order. iv gone to the organize key and i couldn't figure it out! im pretty much computer illiterate i guess. i just want to put them in alphabetical order by the artist. can anyone help me out with this???
