My friend that's a boy, always wants to lay on my shirts, or take them home to sleep with?

My friend, that's a boy asks to like snuggle up to my shirts. He'll come over and ask if he could have one of my used shits because he likes the smell of me. Now, his mom just recently died 2 weeks ago, and i think this has a lot to do with it. Anytime he comes over, if we watch a movie he will lay on one of my shirts. And recently he asked if he could take one of my shirts home, and i gave it to him, he said he wouldn't do anything bad with it, he just feels comfortable when around it. What does this mean? Why me? Does he like me? Is this going to hurt him in the long run? What should i do?
