Need new place to live, but losing job in 3 weeks!?

My husband and I are moving out of his sister's house because she is extremely controlling (even though we pay for half the rent). We told her we are leaving by the end of the month and she agreed. The problem is that I am losing my job in 3 weeks, my husband is ill and has a bad job, and most places we've looked at want our income to be 3 or more times the rent! I have some money in my savings, an annuity, and have applied for Disability for my husband, but it seems owners only look at income. My credit is excellent--I just checked it and it's 750. But my husband's credit is bad because he's had outrageous medical bills and no health insurance. I don't know what to do! How can we move out without sleeping in the car? The only thing I can think of is to get a co-signer, but I can't think of anyone who would help. What to do?
