Very painfull ankles after gout attack?

3 months ago i had a very bad attack of gout in both of my ankles they swelled up so much that i was unable to walk for three days the swelling went down and i managed to walk with the aid of crutches since the attack i have been left with terrible pains in both ankles and i can only weight bear for a short time as they hurt in the joints so much why am i still getting the pain and will it get better i does not seem to be getting better at the moment only worse please help me thanks mike
